Bread Pudding with Bailey’s Vanilla Sauce

Bread Pudding is one of the first desserts I always bake when I’m back home with my parents. I love pairing the bread pudding with some Bailey’s vanilla sauce. It brings out the richness of the bread pudding and helps give it the perfect balance of sweetness.

If you’re a novice baker, then this is a great place to start. It’s a classic dessert that is so simple to make and tastes as good as it smells!

So, here’s what you’ll need:

Makes: 8 servings

Prep Time: 15 mins. Bake Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

Bread Pudding:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of White Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp of Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp of Honey
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1/4 cup melted Butter
  • 2.5 cups of Milk
  • 8 slices of bread of your choice
  • 2 tbs of raisins (optional)

Bailey’s Custard Cream:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp of All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp of Butter
  • 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon
  • 1 cup of Milk
  • 1 tbsp of Vanilla extract
  • 2.5 tbsp of Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1 tsp of Coffee Extract

Begin by preheating your oven to 200Âșc.

In a large bowl, whisk together the mentioned Bread Pudding ingredients. Do not add hot melted butter to your bowl right away – this will simply scramble your eggs. Let your butter cool down before you add it to the mixture. Aim for room temperature!

You can either cut your bread into cubes or simply tear into smaller pieces – before adding to the pudding mixture. Give this a gentle stir, and set aside for 10-15 minutes for the bread to soak in the milk mixture. I like to use bread that is at least a day old or more – this helps the bread soak up the flavors faster!

Next, transfer your pudding mixture to a loaf pan, and bake in your preheated oven for 30 minutes. Once it has cooked, keep it aside to cool down.

To prepare the vanilla sauce, whisk together your egg, flour, butter, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Cook this on medium heat and whisk continuously to avoid lumps. As your sauce begins to thicken, add 1 tsp of coffee extract and continue to mix. Next, add 2 tbsp of Bailey’s Irish Cream. Continue to mix.

Pour your sauce over the bread pudding! You can also dust with some cinnamon powder for some extra spice.

Hope you enjoy! This is a real treat, so indulge carefully.
